Manual Sky View keeps exploration available
Motion sensors and location permissions are convenient, but they should not be a requirement for learning the sky. Skystral provides manual controls so the sky map remains useful on laptops, desktops and devices with unavailable sensors.

Using the Skystral sky map
Is Skystral free?
Yes. The interactive web app is free to use, and the Android app is available on Google Play.
Can I explore the sky from another location?
Yes. Search for a location to see the local horizon and observing context there, which is useful for travel or future eclipse planning.
Does the sky map work on a desktop computer?
Yes. Manual Sky View does not depend on phone motion sensors, so you can explore with mouse, trackpad or touch controls.
Can I use Skystral for the 2027 solar eclipses?
